Post Judgment Modifications in Michigan
Each family law action ends with the entry of a final order. That order or judgment defines the rights and obligations between the parties. If a substantial change occurs after the entry of the final order or judgment, one can apply to the court to modify the existing order. Child related issues (custody, support, parenting time, domicile) can be modified in the future based on a change of circumstances or proper cause. Spousal support can be modified based on a change of circumstances if the parties provided that it would be modifiable.
